Since Catalyst has made the move to weekly services, I've settled into a regular day off on Friday. Today was a great example of why I love having Fridays off.
Had breakfast this morning with my blogging mentor and good friend, Scott Hodge. I could have stayed there all day talking about leadership, family, church stuff, the future...you name it, we covered it. Hodge showed his southern bent by going with some biscuits and gravy while I ordered what turned out to be the biggest omelet I have ever seen in my life. Scott...see you in "sweet home Chicago" soon!
Then, I picked up Lara Beth and the girls and we did something I swore would never happen...we looked at mini-vans. :-) I cannot believe I just typed that and that it really happened. Nothing too serious...just poking around. I think I said 1000 times today, "I just can't get excited about looking at mini-vans." I sort of feel like I need to have my man-card ready to turn in. But, like Lara Beth said all day, "You don't have to drive it." She has a point...:-)
We capped off the day with some friends from our small group as they helped us move stuff around our house. We've been trying for about 4 years to figure out how we want our house to be arranged...we like their house, so they came and helped us all afternoon. We ordered some pizza and made an evening of it, too. It was a blast and I think we actually figured some stuff out.
Now, it's time to veg on the couch with my incredible wife!
CCers...Sunday at Catalyst is going to be awesome! It will be well worth delaying your Memorial Day plans, that is for sure. Remember, we're in to our summer schedule...one service at 11:00 am.
Have a great weekend and I'll see you Sunday!
Oh, so you looked for mini-vans, huh. What were the mini-van models you saw that day? Did you guys see one that everyone liked? Wait, is this gonna be your family car or something? If you were going to look for your special family car, what would it be if not a mini-van?
