Simplyfying has never been a strength of mine when it comes to communicating. Call it ADD, call it messy, call it whatever...simplyfying is a tough task for me.
It's hard because I want to find a way to say everything...ridiculous, I know, but I'm just being honest. Last night as I was looking over my notes, I literally felt like I was looking at the cutting room floor and trying to splice back in parts I had trimmed out. Weird. Moving forward, I have to learn to leave the extra on the floor...there will be other days and other messages to use it. To top it all off, I literally started getting sick in the middle of the message. I had to bolt immediately after I was finished...not fun.
All in all, God was big today at Catalyst. The crowd was loud during the worship set. Ryan did a great job on the videos. Sound was great. Good crowd. I'm so thankful for year one...and year two is off to a solid start!
Remember...beginning May 6, EVERY Sunday is a Catalyst Sunday!
Hey, Jay...
I've been following your blog for a few months now... great stuff! I just want to say that I have the same problem, so you're definitely not on your own! With guys like us, one of the fears we have is that leaving stuff on the floor means that we might run out of things to say! :-) So, I'll be keeping you lifted on that one...
One more thing... our church, Mosaic Community Church in College Park, MD (DC area) goes weekly on May 6, as well... so, if you think about it, pray for us, too!

Dude - I've been there. My favorite comment after one of those was: "What exactly were you trying to say?" And I had no idea.

You're an awesome communicator Jaybird! Don't eeeeeeven trip. I've heard you many times over the years and your passion is top notch. The Lord has used your gift to impact my life and many more folks - & you know this, maaannnnn. Plus, even better than that.......God said, "And who do you think made the human mouth? And who makes some mute, some deaf, some sighted, some blind? Isn't it I, God? So, get going. I'll be right there with you—with your mouth! I'll be right there to teach you what to say." Ex 4:11-12 Message Trans.
